Bats Malaga
We help conserve bats to make our lives (much) better
We reduce mosquitoes and pests by taking advantage of the natural appetite of bats, which can consume thousands of insects each night, offering an ecological alternative to pesticides and protecting our cities, gardens, and natural spaces.
We are dedicated to providing safe habitats for these currently threatened flying mammals, ensuring their survival and that of their young. We invite you to rediscover and appreciate bats, demystifying prejudices and recognizing them as beneficial neighbors who, far from being feared, work to protect our environments at night.

Surely you have heard a thousand times that bats are winged mice or that they feed on your blood. That they are very close friends of witches or that their favorite hobby is getting tangled up in your hair to make you have a hard time.
But we are sure that if you stop to think about it for a second, you will come to the conclusion that all this is just legends taken from witch tales that have very little truth. And if we talk about scientific rigor… nothing at all.
As specialists in biodiversity conservation projects, we have been studying for years, all the benefits that bat species bring to our environment and our lives.
Above we have only told you a few, but we assure you that these small mammals can do much more for us than we imagine.
You have seen us fly in:

Our mission is to promote the biological control of pests (of mosquitoes and other invasive species) based on natural introduction strategies of auxiliary fauna.
Our star animal is the bat, but you can also count on the help of other species such as kestrels, little owls, butterflies and geckos…

Do you know who is behind of Bats Malaga?
I am Antonio Moret, Senior Technician in Forest Management and the Natural Environment and founder of the Research Group of Malaga Bats. And architect of all this you are seeing.
As a specialist in projects for the conservation of biodiversity in urban and agroforestry ecosystems, I pursue a very clear objective with my team: Work for the conservation of bat species.
Because our fascination with nature is undeniable, but we have also dedicated years of research to discovering and evaluating the ecosystem benefits that the conservation and study of bats brings to our daily lives.

We are members of:

During this time, several companies, institutions, and schools have already counted on us to make bats their allies:

And, according to their words, they have been delighted with the experience.
