CONSERVATION WORK AT THE LAGUA FUENTE DE PIEDRA
At Murciélagos Málaga, we are developing a comprehensive Conservation Project at the Laguna Fuente de Piedra, a natural site of high ecological value and home to emblematic species such as the greater flamingo and several protected bat species.
Our work in this area has focused on designing and implementing ecological restoration measures, biological pest control, installation of bat roosting boxes, and technical monitoring programs. All of this is carried out in collaboration with public entities, aiming to foster biodiversity and preserve the ecosystem services of this wetland.
In addition, we have conducted awareness and environmental education activities to help the public understand the importance of conserving this unique environment.

KEY ELEMENTS OF CONSERVATION AT THE LAGUNA FUENTE DE PIEDRA
- We operate in one of the most important wetland areas in Andalusia, applying nature-based solutions to protect biodiversity and aquatic ecosystems.
- We carry out ecological assessments and design specific interventions such as the installation of shelters, biological control, and vegetation restoration.
- We combine conservation with awareness-raising actions, creating educational experiences for schools, local communities, and visitors.
- We work alongside municipalities and public entities to demonstrate how cooperation enhances the success of local conservation projects.
