Museo Virtual MuMa was a digital outreach project developed in collaboration with SECEMU. It combined interpretive content, specialist photography and three-dimensional resources about bats. The original tour is no longer available; its history and images are preserved in the project archive.

Developed in collaboration with SECEMU, the museum introduced bat diversity, biology and relationships with people.
Interpretive panels, specialist photography and three-dimensional resources formed part of the digital exhibition.
The project used a virtual exhibition format to bring bat science closer to a wider audience.
Our current education and conservation projects continue through fieldwork, Bat Night activities and MuMa VR.
Virtual exhibitions can make educational content available remotely and reduce the need for some journeys. Their environmental impact also depends on the devices, networks and hosting used; a lower carbon footprint should not be assumed without assessment. Digital formats allow exhibitions to be updated as scientific knowledge and educational needs develop.
